Not able to read Chinese characters and/or the Hanyu Pinyin phonetics fonts on your browser?
GoChinese operates with Internet Explorer version 6.0. If you are using a previous version of IE, please kindly update your IE browser at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/. If you still have problems viewing GoChinese text, please try the following:
(1) Your IE browser should be set to Unicode (UTF-8) by default when you are using GoChinese. Please make sure that you are indeed on this setting by checking "View" and then "Encoding."
(2) If your encoding is already set to UTF-8 and you still cannot view some of GoChinese's text, then you most likely do not have the fonts MingLiU (which represents the Chinese characters) and/or Arial (version 2.90 or above) (which represents the Pinyin). These respective fonts can be installed through “Control Panel” and then “Regional Language Option,” under the “Language” selection. This may require your Windows installation CD. If you are using a version of Windows prior to Windows 2000, please access "Windows Update" to download these fonts. Note that you must have Administrator access to install additional fonts.
